Industrial Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: Edison, NJ
Industry: Wholesale Building Materials / Construction Materials
Pay: $30.00–$37.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Schedule: Flexible — 1st or 2nd Shift Available

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing operation in Edison, NJ.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding industrial manufacturing equipment. Experience working with older or legacy industrial machinery is highly valued.

This is a hands-on maintenance role for someone who enjoys diagnosing equipment problems, making repairs, and keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Repair and rebuild bearings, shafts, gears, gearboxes, motors, belts, chains, and couplings.
• Troubleshoot basic PLC-controlled equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and perform repairs to help improve equipment reliability.
• Follow all required safety procedures and maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience maintaining industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with hydraulics, bearings, shafts, gears, motors, and mechanical power transmission.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment; experience with older/legacy PLC systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems effectively, and safely complete repairs.
• Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices and equipment safety.
