Software Engineer II – Satellite Ground Systems

Location: Aurora, CO – Onsite

Salary: $150,000–$185,000

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI Required | CI Polygraph Preferred

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required

About the Opportunity

Talent Stack is representing a confidential defense and aerospace client seeking a Software Engineer II to develop software for advanced satellite ground systems supporting mission-critical national security operations.

You’ll work with engineers, architects, and technical leaders in an Agile environment, developing object-oriented Java applications while gaining exposure to AWS, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and satellite ground system technologies .

What You’ll Do

\n
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for advanced satellite ground systems .
\n
• Develop object-oriented and multithreaded Java applications .
\n
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and technical leaders in an Agile development environment .
\n
• Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle using established defense software engineering practices.
\n
• Work with modern software technologies and architectures, including AWS web services, multi-tiered architectures, microservices, DevSecOps, and CI/CD .
\n
• Support the development of reliable, scalable software for complex mission-critical systems.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Active and transferable Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance is required prior to start. An active and transferable Top Secret clearance that can cross over to TS/SCI is also acceptable.
\n
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required.
\n
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience . Internships, co-ops, research assistantships, academic projects, and graduate research do not count toward the required years of professional experience.
\n
• Professional experience designing and developing object-oriented software using Java .
\n
• Hands-on experience with Java multithreading .
\n
• Ability to work onsite in Aurora, Colorado .
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Active CI Polygraph preferred.
\n
• Experience developing satellite planning and scheduling software or comparable systems that coordinate resources, activities, dependencies, workflows, or operational sequences.
\n
• Experience with the software development lifecycle using SAFe Agile methodology .
\n
• Software development experience using C++ and Python .
\n
• Experience developing microservices in AWS environments using Docker and Kubernetes .
\n
• Experience with test automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes .
\n
• Experience with development and collaboration tools including Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, JUnit, Kafka, and Spring Boot .
